Thankful

Dear blog readers,

Today was my first day back from maternity leave. I wanted to thank my students, parents, district, and substitute teacher for allowing me this time to bond with my newborn daughter, Vada. The time we spent together was priceless, and it meant the world to my family. Again, many thanks.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Wotchko

Snow Day/Bunbury

The inclement weather has caused a severe chill in me. I am afraid I will not be able to answer all of your individual questions, so I will submit one final post here about your Bunbury assignments. Your Bunbury will be due when we return from the holiday on Monday, December 1st. Specifications:

  • minimum half page (it can definitely be longer)
  • invent a Bunbury to explain why you can't do an assignment or attend school
  • letter or story format
  • be creative
  • you can earn extra credit if you share in class
In all seriousness, Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful to have a job I love and to work with such brilliant young people daily. -Mrs. W.

I'm back!

Today was my first day back from maternity leave. All five sections of English 10 had Aspire testing. The students were well behaved and a pleasure to be with, but I am sure that tonight they are all praying for a snow day tomorrow. I say, "You can always dream."
